Britton, 10 , SSS Entry

My 10 year old daughter, Britton, loves stamping with me so when I found the SSS summer kids challenge I turned my craft room over to her.  I had a bit of a mess to clean up after but you arent really crafting if you arent making a mess!!  I didnt realize she had picked up so many techniques when she has joined me during my crafting sessions so I was more than impressed with what she came up with and the finished product!!  She has been able to draw extremely well as long as I can remember and apparently can give her mother a run for her money with her skills at stamping and ink blending!!

1st Challenge Project!!

Hello, Jill here, and Welcome to my very first project for the very fun Girls Creative Fun Art of Scrap!!
This is such a fun challenge because it is  always going to be anything goes as long as you use patterned paper.  Lets be honest my fellow crafters we all have a ton of beautiful paper we have horded over the years and are afraid to use because we love it and want to hold onto it or we arent quite sure what to do with it.  I am nowhere near the level of the other talented ladies on the team but I hope my projects help to inspire and jumpstart your creativity on how to use them because I know the other excellent projects will!!  Just remember the most important things when entering is create in the way that makes you happy because it will be beautiful every time and most importanly have fun doing it!!

My project for our 1st challenge is so simple, I used some patterned paper from stampin up (retired, name escaping me but I will get it and update), the die set is also from a retired stamp and die set called tricks and treats.  It came with a great die to make these adorable little treat bags that could be used all year to really stretch your crafting supplies and your $$.  I die cut the boo and the tags from glow in the dark paper also retired but had a little left and thought it would add a nice finishing touch.  I also decided to stamp some bats and eeks in memento black ink on pumpkin pie ribbon which matches the main color of the bag.

I hope you will join us the 25th of every month for this fun challenge because we cannot wait to see your Beautiful creations using up that stash of pretty papers!!

I have been absent from my blog and all of my favorite challenges for a few months now.  I Have been in the process of working on a brand new blog but had to do my research and decide on how I want thing to look and so on.  Its a forever long process it seems like but since I finally actually began designing the site Im hoping to get up and running soon!

I just recently got some very exciting news and couldnt wait to share it.  I have actually been given an opportunity to be a member of a design team for a challenge that I can already tell alot of us paper crafters will love!!  Are you like me and have collected so many patterned papers over the years you no longer have any space for any new ones?  Would you like to free up some space for some new ones?  You Know you do!!

If you do then go to the Girlz Creative Fun Art of Scrap challenge that will have its debut challenge August 25th.  Thats literally right around the corner.  Start looking through those beautiful papers and make anything you would like, not just a card, because the other great thing about this challenge is that anything goes as long as you use patterned paper, and who doesnt love creating beautiful things with patterned paper!!

This has been some sunshine in a pretty dreary few months so I feel so blessed to have been chosen to be a part of it.  There are some lovely ladies over there who cant wait to see all of your beautiful creations.  Please join us the 25th of each month for some sunshine of your own!!

Lattice

I made these lattice cards after watching Gina from Gina K Designs make them.  I have made a much simpler version several times so seeing this I was excited to try it.  I broke out my white cardstock and cut a bunch of 1/4 inch strips then used the non stitched rectangle from master layouts 2.  I pulled out my Gina K stencil and went to work blending.  I simply blended with a brush the whole stencil 2 times then cut out the flowers and leaves.  I love the way these turned out and will be making alot more with different stencils, die cuts and stamps.

I will be submitting to the following challenges:

Happy Birthday

I made this project using the stitched cake dies from spellbinders.  I also used a foil panel and foil form pinkfresh studios and the word dies are from stampin up.  I love the stitching on the cake, I almost did not do any stitching but had to try and I am so glad I did.  The toner panels and foil both from pinkfresh studios work so well with my heat source which is a laminator.  I love the pink foil and the picture doesnt show at all the beautiful shine that is achieved just using the it.  Literally takes seconds to have a gorgeous background pattern ready to use.  I will be submitting this project to the following challenges:

Birthday surprise

I made this project using the surprise gift stamp set and dies from hero arts.  I love the package in this set, its so easy to make this pop up surprise element with just a cut to the card panel and popping it up with some dimensionals.  I think its an adorable little stamp set and can see it getting used frequently for many different kinds of cards.  The colors used are pool party, fresh fresia, highlamd heather and lemon lolly from stampin up.  My card base is made from basic white thick, also from stampin up.  I will be submitting this project to the following challenges:
