Lifes A Beach

I made this beachy card by first cutting an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of lost lagoon cardstock in half at 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2.  I used a panel of thick basic white cardstock for the front and the inside.  I then used my water painters to get the pretty sky, water and sand.  I used boho blue, lost lagoon and pecan pie.  I could not lot locate my bird stamps so I used a sharpie to just draw them in (not too shabby, but pretty easy),   I used the colorful seasons stamp set for the cute little beach chairs and the little drinks next to them.  I used a scrap of basic white that I stamped the just breathe onto and trimmed down then cut the banner end using snips.

For the inside white panel I stamped one of the adorable chairs and the sun, which came from I am almost positive it was the march paper pumpkin kit.  I just love my paper pumpkins!!  The sentiment Life is a Beautiful Thing was also in this set.  I love the images in this set but the sentiments are so pretty.  They are a great size and such a beautiful scripty style.  I was worried my watercolor was not going to turn out at all but I was suprisingly pleased with how it looks.  I love the beachy feel of this card.  Makes we wish I was there.  Can practically smell the saltwater from here.

Celebrating Sunflowers

I recently purchase this sunflower set from facebook.  Its a retired set called celebrate sunflowers and I love it.  Im always on the lookout for older retired sets from them because I love their products, everything is the highest quality, they are also comparable in price if not even a little less expensive that many other brands available not to mention many of their retired sets are absolutely gorgeous.  Sorry, going off on a rant.  Lets get back to why we are here, this beautiful card.  I started off with half of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of mango melody, I cut it in half on the long side leaving me 2 card bases that when scored and folded at 4 1/4 they will be sized at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  I then stamped the largest sunflower in memento ink along with the leaves and using my water painters and ink refills colored in the sunflower with mango melody, the center with a new in color, copper clay and the leaves in one of my new favorite colors, lost lagoon.  I stamped the sentiment from the set in memento tuxedo black and matted that on a panel of copper clay (cant remenber the exact sizes but will update after measuring)

For the inside I adhered a sheet of basic white after stamping this time in mango melody and lost lagoon.  I liked the way the same flower looked stamped on my choice of colors and not painting or coloring everything in.   This sentiment also belongs to this set and looks beautiful.  I love the words available with this set, the fonts are so beautiful and scripty.  Over all I am so happy with the first card made with this lovely bundle and see many more in the near future.

Sweet and Cool

I made this card using the SIP (stamps, ink, paper) method and am so pleased with how good it turned out!!  I used the Super Cool stamp set from Stampin Ups 2023-24 catalog.  I love this set, it has some of the cutest little treats in it.  I simply used half of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of basic white thick cardstock.  I cut it in half at 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  I did add a 3 1/4 x 5 1/2  panel of basic white on top of the thick white just to make sure my ice creams were stamped as straight as possible and to add a little interest which I feel like it added more than i could have imagined.  I stamped the cones in berry burst, tahitian tide and gorgeous grape.  I used a scrap of white to stamp the Sweet then cut it to size and used my paper snips to cut the banner.  I stamped you are so in black directly on the panel with the cones.

For the inside I decided to stamp the pop bottle in tahitian tide and the pretzel in pumpkin pie.  I also stamped the hey there in tahitian tide, that sentiment is from another stamp set by the name of artfully layered.  It has retired I'm almost positive but its still a beautiful set that also had coordinating dies that are lovely as well.  I really love the way this all together and I also love how quickly it was done.  I have recently discovered that I am enjoying the SIP method of cardmaking because one does not need a ton of supplies to make absolutely beautiful cards.  If you just have a few things you can.  I also love that any skill level can do these with ease from a total beginner to the most advanced crafter.  I would encourage everyone that has 10 minutes to spare to pull out a couple things from your stash and make a beautiful card and send it someone, its guaranteed to put a smile on their face and probably yours as well!!
